 Frequently Asked Questions..

  • It is safe to receive a massage in any trimester from a trained and certified prenatal massage therapist, such as Rachael!

  • Every body and every pregnancy is different, but Rachael recommends coming in about once a month throughout your pregnancy. You may decide to come more frequently during the 3rd trimester to prepare your body and mind for birth.

  • You are welcome immediately after! I highly recommend speaking with your medical provider about your specific health conditions to ensure you are able to get the most out of your massage experience.

  • Please contact me directly with any concerns you may have.

Please note that even if you have contraindications and can not receive the “traditional” pregnancy massage, you may still benefit from gentle relaxation techniques! (breathing techniques, scalp massage, energy work just to name a few!) I am specially trained to help support everyone!

  • Not with me! Laying on your side is the safest and most comfortable way to receive massage therapy during pregnancy. It also helps to take some of the strain off uterine ligaments which can often cause discomfort.

Prefer not to lay on your side? We can set you up in a reclined position which is just as safe, and gives you a chance to relax on your back again!

  • Labor ready massage simply means it is time to start specifically focusing on preparing you for your birth! We will work on specific muscle groups that will need extra flexibility and attention. Ease any anxiety or pre birth jitters you may feel by allowing yourself to calm your nervous system and drop into the “rest and digest” state.

If you would like to work on inducing spontaneous labor, we can use specific acupressure and craniosacral techniques to help facilitate the bodies natural processes.

If you would like to dive a little deeper into getting “labor ready” I am happy to spend some time before/after our session to show you and your partner some massage techniques and comfort measures you can use during labor at no additional fee.*

*please inquire so I can reserve the time.

  • A multi-modality abdominal massage designed to help reduce scar tissue restrictions, inflammation, & smooth muscle tension, while helping to facilitate & improve digestion, circulation & lymph flow to the pelvic & abdominal organs. Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage, Acupressure, & Abdominal Massage along with the topical use of castor oil helps support ovarian and uterine health and stimulates the “rest & digest” nervous system. When the parasympathetic nervous system is stimulated, it allows the body to prioritize healing, digestion, and hormone stimulation. And last but certainly not least- greatly reduces stress & anxiety!

includes 10-15 minutes of self massage instruction after your session so you can continue the routine at home! I am more than happy to help answer any questions you may have, or point you in the direction of someone who can!

  • Yes I do! Due to all the pillows and equipment I need in order to provide pregnancy massage I do ask for plenty of space (9 feet by 6 feet approx.) and a parking spot to easily load and unload.

90 minute sessions only and a $50 travel fee added.
